We couldn’t give our mum’s the Mother’s Day they deserved last year (or even the year before!) So it's time to say THANK YOU and show how much you appreciate what they do for you by letting us do the hard work.
Mother's Day is a chance to celebrate every kind of Mum… who's that special person you turn to? Every family is different, but make sure they know you care! So this Mother’s Day we invite you to celebrate them by treating them to some delicious food and drinks at Whitbread Inns.
With the choice of a special Mother’s Day home cooked roast (available Sunday 27th only) , or our delicious set menu, there’s a meal for every kind of mum.
Whilst these days, Mother’s Day gifts tend to be flowers, jewellery or a meal out at their favourite restaurant, the origins of Mother’s Day go way back to the Ancient Greeks.
Rhea, the Mother of the Gods and Goddesses was celebrated every spring with festivals of worship. The Romans also celebrated a mother Goddess, Cybele, every March as far back as 250BC.
So, whilst you might not be going quite as far as a festival of worship for Mum (even if they do deserve it!) we know that you’ll make Mother’s Day the best it can be.
Around 30 million Mother’s Day cards are sent every year, so make yours stand out from the crowd. Homemade cards are not only fun to create but they are also super unique. Take a moment out of your day to create a colourful and personalised card for mum or grandma with our step-by-step guide.
