You’ll be on top of the world after a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner with us here at the Globe Inn. Our menu has something for everyone, from pub classics like our 7oz gammon steak to tempura prawn starters, and even if you’re just looking for a good place to have a pint, we’re one of the best spots in Highcliffe-on-Sea.
We have a committed team who have been together for a long time. We’re experienced and care about making sure our guests have the best experience possible – we want to make sure we get it right first time so new guests come back time and time again. We know everyone says this, but our team also get along really well outside of work too, and that shows in how well they treat each other and our guests.
We do our best to support local charities, whether that’s taking part in male carer's group lunches, coffee morning bereavement groups, local walking groups or helping local children’s charities by selling bags of sweets and biscuits (make sure to pick some up, they’re only £1 each).
The Globe Inn has a rich history dating back to late 1880s, when it was at the heart of the local community. The Globe Inn began as a small wayside tavern, but as the years went by it grew and grew. Carriers used the Globe as a starting point for their horse-drawn carriages travelling to Lymington and other local areas. Although Highcliffe-on-Sea has changed a lot since then, the Globe has kept a lot of its Victorian architecture and of course its popularity with residents. We’re very happy we’re still such a big part of the community.
We have a large beer garden, lots of outdoor seating and a large open space area overlooking our garden, which can cater to up to 50 people for events (please book in advance). We run a fun weekly quiz night, we show BT Sports on 3 large HD TVs and we also run solo and duo music nights – we have a great atmosphere and we’re a fun place to be any day of the week!
Highcliffe-on-Sea is set on a picturesque stretch of the Solent coastline. We’re only a short walk away from award-winning beaches and views of Christchurch Bay, the Isle of Wight and the Needles rocks. The Globe Inn is a centre point in the popular Highcliffe Arts and Food Festival, which takes place every year and showcases the best local food, drink and art.
Our restaurant is only a five-minute drive away from Highcliffe Castle, a grade 1 listed building and a major sightseeing spot. Popular for weddings among other events, the castle is home to lovely romantic architecture, medieval French masonry and ancient stained-glass windows. There’s also beautiful paths on the grounds that lead through Steamer Point Nature Reserve to Mudeford, or in the other direction, a zig zag path down to the beach.
Historic Christchurch is a ten-minute drive away, with plenty to see. From the 14th century ducking stool, past the ruins of Christchurch Castle and Constable's House, down to the stunning Priory. There are also lots of small shops which are perfect for exploring!
As if that wasn’t enough, our restaurant is on the border of the 750km² New Forest. That’s 40+ great walking and cycling routes, fascinating wildlife and a selection of small villages to explore. For a fun family day out, try Paultons Park – home of Peppa Pig World, only a short 30-minute drive away from us.
It’s the time-honoured classic people can’t enough of – traditional fish and chips served close to the seaside. Our Whitbread Inns spin on the classic is a beer-battered haddock & chips served with either mushy peas or garden peas.
We do the best roast in town, and you can go large from only £9.99! That’s hand-carved roast beef, succulent turkey or hand-carved gammon with unlimited golden potatoes, yorkies and our signature rich red wine gravy.
We serve the Premier Inn Breakfast at the Globe Inn, the best breakfast to set you up for the day. An unlimited selection of the best of an English breakfast. That’s bacon, eggs cooked just how you like them, hash browns, black pudding, toast and plenty more with free tea and coffee.
A Premier Inn Breakfast is just £9.50 per adult, and if an adult orders up to two kids eat for free. The lighter alternative, the continental breakfast is £7.50 per adult.
If you order a Premier Inn Breakfast or a continental breakfast you can enjoy unlimited coffee, tea and juice. A free drink is included as part of our Meal Deal, too.
The safety and wellbeing of our guests and teams is always our number one priority, which is why we introduced the Generous Serving of Safety promise across our restaurants to make sure you can sit back, relax and enjoy dining out in Highcliffe-on-Sea.
